Default deciding factor, what brand turbo should i buy

in a toss up on what brand turbo to buy, please help me decide im looking at a new garrett with no warr., or a new master power with a 1 year warr. both have the same specs except exhaust, garrett is 4 bolt, master power is 5 bolt. thanks for looking.

master power makes alot of oem turbos, and have really good reviews from what ive read. alot of people on some turbo mustang forum swear by them. even spoolin recommended one to me.

Master power has had a bad name because a few years ago SSAC (ssautochrome = ssautocrap) sold their turbos under masterpowers name. After they were found out, SSAC stopped that and named their turbos XS power.

DO NOT BE CONFUSED that XSpower turbos are the same as Brazilian made Master power.

As JSPECSIR said, master power makes a lot of OEM turbos for automotive and diesel applications. Everyone I know that is using a master power turbo (including myself) has nothing but good things to say. They are not as well known as garrett or precision, but they make good stuff.

Either way, I don't see you going wrong with either turbo, however the warranty gives the MS turbo an edge. Pick what you feel most comfortable in getting

As long as YOU dont mess it up. Turbochargers aren't rocket science. They are very simple working units. 9/10 times its the customer that made it fail.

Like I've said in the past, Turbonetics offers a one year warranty PERDIOD on there turbochargers reguardless what you do to them.... and that includes user error.

master power gets my vote. Ive only heard good things about them. Plus they have a 1yr waranty and are usually cheaper than garrets.
