Damn the COLD weather... can't hold boost if my life depended on it :(
Today has been one of the first cold days we have had and made several rips tonight on it, hit boost but almost every time and gear The car holds holds 20psi like a charm and since today, 28degrees F, goes to 22-25psi(boost cut) almost every time
damn the cold weather!!!!
just when the car reallllly starts to get down... it shuts down HARD O well, glad to know my EMS is doing its job.

Turn the boost back down...then you will benefit from the lower intake temps without hitting boost cut.

Re: Damn the COLD weather... can't hold boost if my life depended on it :( (wade)
well no **** the colder weather makes it run better, thats a given. Did I say it ran worse? I was making a point the extra cold weather in the mid 20s is alot cooler and denser. Guess my WG can't keep up with all the added pressure or w/e
O well. Guess its time to make myself a manifold.

wadel, you aren't running a 20psi spring, so... turn down the manual boost controller. this is what you have to do with manual boost controllers, adjust them alot

Re: Damn the COLD weather... can't hold boost if my life depended on it :( (seen4ever)
dear seen4ever, i have NO boost controller on my car. I have my WG spring set to 17psi and it holds 20psi all day long due a a tad bit of creep from the manifold. Once the cold air came, it goes futher.
thanks and try again

I'd suggest moving the WG line to before the fmic. If its post-TB right now, it should give you 1-3psi less due to the pressure drop. If you don't get much of a drop, then take some cardboard and block half of the fmic's rear.

weird, a .63 w. a 44mm should control great.
take the WG off and check the discharge hole leading to the WG. Make sure its 44mm or larger.
If the hole is too small, im sure (for you) its an easy fix.
if you wanted to go that route

i am just going to sell off this manifold and make my own since thats what i do anyways. Just never have time for myself. i am going to go above and beyond on my WG primary design on the next manifold I make.

why don't you get a ebc or even a manuel one. From what i notice on mine the turbo even spool quicker with one on then just usinga spring

The smaller the a/r the more prone to boost creep your setup will be

EDIT: too much info mamma jamma
What I meant was the initial hole that was cut leading to the waste gate may not have been cut in a large enough diameters to allow adequate control that a 44mm gate can achieve.
Boost creep pretty much sucks though! Hope he find's something that will help out

I agree with you. Many wastegates weren't meant to see the vacuum that they see when the line is hooked up to the IM.
