Damage from Leaded Race Gas?
I think I accidently might have filled up my turbo 96 Integra GS-R with about 1 - 2 gallons of Sunoco 110 octane LEADED race gas. What kind of damage can this cause the car if I'm running a Carsound 3" cat with O2 sensors?
Thanks,
Sh4rky

Over a prolonged period it can damge the O2 sensors, but that is running everyday all day, once should not hurt you, I have filled up plenty with 116octane and never a problem actually.

Re: Damage from Leaded Race Gas? (hatchback19)
My roommate is a big V8 guy, and he used to work at a machine shop.
He was telling me that running lead fuel in an aluminum motor can cause some serious damage. I can't remember specifically what he was saying it does (I'll check with him if anyone's interested), but he said that he had seen some aluminum blocks and heads that were basicallyt destroyed from running leaded gas. Can anyone verify/destroy this rumor/theory?

i dont know exactly what he is gettign at here, but aluminum + lead does not make anything go boom...
either way, a gallon or 2 probably didnt hurt anything noticably. but i would not do it to a street car in the future.

I've torn down a lot that used leaded gas and never seen any damage, are you sure he wasn't talking about aluminum engines that run alcohol? If you let alchohol sit on a piston, wall, manifold, etc.. for an extended period of time it will eat that **** up.
