Default Dallas area Hondata tuners:

I am in the process of getting a hondata. I have done many searches lots of research and spent time talking directly to hondata. I have come to the conclusion I am converting my crx to obd1 and going to run the s200 with the boost option. I am also going to get some 440's and new intank fuel pump. I am ditching the inline, vafc and the fmu but I am not sure if there any thing else I should purchase with the hondata for street use. Is there anyone around dallas that can tune my car once all is complete for a reasonable price and also who has the best price on hondata products. How hard would it be to tune myself if I purchased the add from hondata that dynoes your car while you drive around. Would I need a wide band any info helps, thanks.

If you follow Hondata's recommendations you'll need a 1:1 rising rate FPR. Also you’ll want to install a second 02 bung in your exhaust for a wideband during tuning.

Alamo Autosports impressed me when they tuned my friends drag 3 Si, but Jotech didn’t have a dyno at that point. Expect to pay upwards of $150 an hour for tuning on a dyno.

just for peoples info, stock regulator is a 1:1 rise rate. you dont really need to change it, i had more problems when i changed mine so i put it back to stock.

Yeah, I talked to brice today for a while he is going to probly be the one I use, I called jotech they told me 600 to tune, I would rather go buy my own wide band setup for that much and try to tune it myself. Not saying any thing bad but that seems high at least for my budget.

Do you have a basemap or anything to start with? Does the chip/Hondata need to be installed?

When I called Jotech I am not sure who I talked to they put me on hold after I asked them about it then someone got one the phone and said 600 to install it and tune it, I dont have the hondata yet I just ordered the obd1 conversion harness and a stock obd1 ls ecu to send off to hondata. Brice told me it is 250 or so for hondata to do what ever it is they have to do to my ecu.
