D16z6 vs D16y8 head gasket. Which is better for boost?
I recently came across something on here that said the d16y8 headgasket is better than the d16z6 one (becasue the y8 is metal). I'm talking OEM gaskets here.
I've got a boosted d16z6/jdm d15b hybrid and wanted to know if a y8 head gasket would be a good investment next time the motor is apart.

Re: (Sinner)
Both OEM gaskets are identical as of last year. The d16z6 gasket was always a 3 layer metal gasket and the d16y8 used to be a thinner 2 layer metal gasket. Sometime around last year Honda changed them so they are both the same 3 layer metal gaskets but still have different part numbers and different prices. The d16y8 part goes for about 30 dollars while the d16z6 goes for 50 something and they are both identical so if you are buying a d series gasket ask for the d16y8 version!
