D16Z6 turbo questions
I have been doing some research and have a few questions if some sound newbish im sorry well here goes... The car 1994 Civic Ex, the motor D16Z6 has about 200k when lost my license pulled it out, valves and what not look clean on the head but milage worries me.... With that said what do i need to get to build a relatively reliable D/D i really would like to reach somewhere need 275whp....
So far i have Xs Turbo kit, XTD stage 2 clutch, Dsm 450 injectors
I found this website in another H-T forum, for the bottom rebuild kit and was hoping someone would give me insight on this before i order it
http://fjdistributors.com/prod...d=170
Any insight would be helpful and thanks to all in advance... help me get my turbo project rolling and i will no longer be "CONFUSED" EGCOUPE

if your gunna boost it bro...do it right. i would just buy a block and head brand new and all the turbo compnents for the engine. im buying a D16z6 Crate and just tearing it all down and rebuilding witth all strictly turbo parts. plus a port and polish and a 3 angle valve job.

Wow...I hope you're joking.
Z6 head: retail $ 1,215.65; online $ 971.91
ITR head: retail $ 1851.55; online $ 1481.24
Z6 block: retail $ 2,380.08; online $ 1,902.87
ITR block: retail $ 2527.94; online $ 2022.35
used JDM B18C GSR complete swap: $2599
used JDM K24 longblock: $850
used USDM K20 (+trans, ecu, etc) $4000
You could also do a complete JDM GSR swap for less than your crate D16Z6, and still be safe to 350whp - on an OEM-assembled engine. Or for a bit more, get a brand-new ITR longblock. You can also get a portflow cnc'd head+rebuild for about the price of that 'new' Z6 head, and a sleeved/forged/built Z6 block for less than the dealer's prices on 'new' Z6 blocks. This means for the same price as a bone-stock crate motor, you'll have a D16 that can and will do 400+, or a B18 that will do 300+ safely (450 has been done many times).
To each his own, but I seriously hope you come to realize how silly it is to buy a brand-new D16 - it is NOT a good investment, especially considering how the new OEM bearings for D's are now only as good (or worse I hear) as ACL's...
