d16z6 with 8.5:1 compression, how much boost on pump gas?
I'am about to build a d16z6 on the side before I push my current stock setup to much farther. Anyways, I'am probably going to end up using the TT rods+vitara pistons combo which is about 8.5:1 compression. My question is about how much could I boost using 93 octane before getting into the danger zone of not enough octane? I was thinking at least 15psi I would love to be able to get about 20psi.

As long as you get a good tune, no reason you can't do 20psi+,but it all depends on choice of turbo as well.

it all demends onyour setup. compression has very little to do with it when it comes to Fi as long as it;s under 10:1. i run 9.5:1 and run about 20psi on pump w/o any issues. but my car is very well tuned, has a huge fuel system upgrade from tank forward and back, and has 1000cc injectors to feed it controlled from a hondata s300.
if you have a good tuner, good fuel system, and properly setup, along with a proper turbo, then you should be able to run 20psi ok.
remember it's not the PSI that kills you it's the cmf flowed form the turbo. 20psi on a t3 is not the same as 20psi on my gt30r turbo. my gt put out way more cfm than a t3 woudl expecially at that psi range. os turbo type also has a lot to do with it.
anyway, i'll stop spouting. i hope this helps some and good luck.
