well i have my z6 at 78mm, if you are building for boost which i think you are, i would get 76mm bore so if you screw up and blow something up youcan always bore it out some and start over

Edit: and he said that because he is ignorant

lol, we will see when it runs down the track. plus i love the torque if u notice most d series motors on dynos have high torque. the torque is closer to the hp level then a b series. i've already built my full race head which actually flows better then a b series stock head "yes it is true flame on me if u want to". heres everything i've done to the head. it has been ported & polish on a flow bench for full race to get that perfect flow for the turbo to spool all the way to the redline. i also have my STR IM and my STR TB which both are ported and polished to perfection . i have a blox cam but now, i'm trying to figure out which cam to use instead of that one. aem cam gear, ferrea valves, ferrea dual valve springs and ferrea retainers with brand new oem valve guides. and also my fuel system, but i'm not going to get into that and all the othere goodies i have for it . but all i need now is to figure out what i need for the short block

well to your original question, the biggest bore i have seen is 79mm, however i would only suggest that for an NA vehicle as the sleeves would be too thin even with aftermarket sleeves for a boosted application, like i said i would run a 76mm bore so it gives you room for error in case something gets screwed up and you need to rebore it.

I have 78.5mm bore.
I would go with either 75.5 or 76.

mine was @ 77mm but highest i'd go on boost is 78mm.

one thing to think about too is the availability of headgaskets. it took me forever to get a damn headgasket when i had to change mine.

Cometic happened to be on BO on all damn HG's

RS machine took a month to cut an oem one to 77mm (this was when they were changing owners or whatever though)
