d16y8 turbo ACT clutch 6puck?
Im in the market for a ACT 6 puck clutch and ran into some clutches for all 99 civics. I want to make sure this is the right clutch for a d16. Here are the descriptions and part number
HC5-HDR6
SKU: 83705500590
This kit includes these components:
H-023 - Heavy Duty Pressure Plate
6P212D - 6 Pad Race Disc
RB820 - Release Bearing
PB1002 - Pilot Bearing
AT20 - Alignment Tool
Torque Capacity: 285 ft/lbs.
This is the heavy duty version, goals are to run 15 psi max at about 220 whp . My clutch gave way so I need a new one. Please confirm.
*I know I spelled it wrong but I fixed it.

For the setup you speak of don't get the 6 puck especially if it is daily driven. My opinion but I used to have the XTSS and switched to a 6 puck because of my goals, drivability wise the street disc is "easier" to drive for daily driving. Mine isn't daily driven but is driven on weekends mostly. I am sure that will change when the boost gets back on. For you goals, the HDSS is fine and will last a long time...

cool, but the part #HC5-HDR6 will fit y8 tranny's right? ACT website says for all 96-00 civic so I just wanted to make sure since the D series tranny's are different than B series.

all 92-00 are same
id recomend act 50% hdss
or centerforce II 60%
both will work fine id prefer centerforce due to design differences
but it personal preference

cool, i'm getting a really good deal on this clutch that I can't pass up unless the clutch doesn't work with y8 tranny's.

This man knows whats up! I also started with a xtss and then upgraded to a xtr6 because of my goals, however the xtss is a much nicer clutch.
xtss > hdr6
Dont get a 6puck unless you *really really* need it.
