D16Y8 Greddy turbo CA smog
Has anyone with a 6th gen Civic passed CA smog check with a Greddy kit? I know that the kit is not technically legal on 6th gen Civics and that the new kit with the blue box isn't smog legal alltogether but I wanted to see if anyone has good/bad experiences trying to pass it. I have the EO# for the old Greddy kit and intend on trying to pass it off on my 97 Civic EX, but I'm wondering what the chances are for it passing the sniffer at stock boost? I still have to make a plate to block off the BOV flange, but aside from that, it's just a basic Greddy kit. Thanks!

If the Smog shop isn't very knowledgable, or if they don't really care, then you could probably pass it off and use the 92-95 CARB EO. They only test at idle and 3K RPM at light throttle, so I doubt you'd even be boostiing during the emissions test itelf. I got smogged two years ago with this setup:
Back then I wasn't even running a filter, and the guy didn't even care. They're getting stricter now though, so I'm gonna swap my stuff off to smog this year.

Yeah. I was hoping for either a lazy smog tech or one that could care less about the old EO#. Good to hear you passed with your kit so I hope the same can be said for my set-up. Gotta get it taken care of since registration is due and I'd rather not take off the kit or go looking for "shady" smog stations. Thanks alot!
