Default d16y7 turbo questions???

Hello all I posted this in the eg+ forum and got a few answers. I think this is the right forum this time though. I am going to turbo charge my 98 hatch. I have a y8 IM and was wondering if I should use it or not. Or should I just get a 90 degree bend and use my stock IM? I was also planning on using a hondata 200b for engine management with rc 310's. The hondata is in a p28. I have the obdI ecu to obdII engine harness adapter. Does anyone out there have any experience with this set up? How well did it work in your car? Any and all info would be much appreciated.

Thanks In Advance

I recomend going with larger injectors then 310cc.
450-500cc should be good, unless you are runing lots of boost....but you should be fine up to about 14psi w/450's

The only reason I got the 310's was cuz they came with my turbo kit. My partner is running the 310's in his turbo eg at 10psi and still running a tad rich like 12 a/f ratio. I will try them and if they are not enough I will go to the 440's. Thanks for the reply

hey whats going on? I'm from SR too with the same setup that u are doing it seems like... Well with your question from what i have read is that the Y7 manifold is way restrictive then the Y8, so yes it would be the smart way to go if u were going turbo. Unless u have no budget go with the skunk2 manifold. And also are the 310's saturated injectors or peak and hold?

OK...first thing....if you want to run a p28 with Hondata yuo MUST convert to a "2 wire" IACV. If you have a y8 itake manifold, it must be from a 5 speed. On the d16y7 and the Automatic d16y8 both use a '# wire" IACV which i located on the bottem of the throttle body. This IACV will not work w/ the P28. You need to get a 5 speed y8 intake manifold, y8 IACV, and the sensor and plug then run a wire to the #12 pinout on the conversion harness(ap32 i think).

With that out of the way you can now run Hondata in your y7.

I would go with at least 440cc injectors for a stock d16. a 14.7 A/F mixture is REALLY lean at WOT..i hope youe talking about part throttle, because you want around a 12:1 A/F ratio under boost. Also, 440cc will provide enough fuel for your stock d16.

if you have abn more questions feel free to ask.

14.7 is stoich it aint rich..thats dangerous under boost ...and yes use the y8 intake manifold

I'm going to assume that he's not turbo, because 14.7 is not a safe air/fuel ratio for boost. It also depends on his set-up. im runing 310cc injectors, and i had to lean out my air/fuel ratio to get 12.0:1. but that vary's because of my set-up......it all depends on how you get the extra fuel
