d16y7 turbo greddy kit
i am thinking about putting on a 92-95 greddy turbo kit on my 97 dx coupe. iv searched plenty of times and still am confused about what is needed to make it work succesfully. if any one has experince please explain what parts i will need to purchase to make it fit porperly. and how the kit felt on stock internals right outa the box. thank you.

Re: d16y7 turbo greddy kit (sqwale)
I have one installed on my 99 DX Hatch. The only extra parts that are needed is an EX intake manifold and a little modification to the intercooler piping. If you wanted to leave the DX intake manifold on the car then a little extra bends and couplers would be needed. If your using the blue box, just get the wiring diagram for an OBDII car.

nothing, just cut up the pipes just a bit, ur going to 2 have to cut open the hole in the pass side, just drill it out and run the pipe in it
this is my old ricer setup on my d16y7
but i sold the thing and now i am stock
This is a 92-95 EX kit
notice how my pipe runs under the fender wall and not where the tranny opens, ur going to need custom ic pipes, unless you buy the overpriced greddy kit
you are also going to need to weld a BOV on the charge pipes, besides that it's a very easy install.
also they have a wiring diagram for a 96-98 civic if you plan to run the blue box
here is the info your need

Re: d16y7 turbo greddy kit (StreetLevelPerformance)
a lil off the topic but where did you guys start learning about turboing your d16? i dont even know where to start. i understand the basics but not sure if i should get the greddy or piece one together. its my first turbo setup and just wanna do it right the first time. i just want a fun daily driver and a reliable one. theres seems to be so much stuff to have a reliable turbo and dont wanna blow my only motor.

We're installing this kit on our EK shop car. It's a 2000 DX with the D16Y7. We'll post pics and do a little write up when we're finished.
So far the manifold bolts right up and so does the downpipe. The charge pipes need a little modification but nothing serious. I think the hardest part about this kit is setting the e-Manage up but we'll see when we get to it.

Re: d16y7 turbo greddy kit (Quad-Damge)
mmmm i wish my engine looked that nice. i got the greddy kit on a y7 that should(emphasis on should) make over 220whp, but my motor in a clusterf**k of stuff. personally, i'd get a new turbo manifold if you could find one. the greddy log just looks like ***
i havent had any reliability problems yet. just torn cv boot and spark plugs. oh yeah and blowing the i/c piping coupler apart at 17 psi. i guess thats not relable then
