Default D16Y7 with high mileage, to induce force or not?

I drive a 00 Civic LX 4D 5Sp, its got close to 174K miles, it burns about a quart every oil change (3000 miles) and besides that, the engine runs great. I wanted to swap to a B18B, but if I could work with what I have, I prefer the latter. I wanted to run a stock engine w/ a turbo setup and Y8 intake manifold. I work at Acura and the techs say the engine is very reliable and should be able to run for many miles. So now I'm coming to the board to see what you guys think.

Do a compression and leakdown test. As long as the engine is healthy, it doesn't matter if it has 30,000 or 3,000,000 miles.

Exactly. This is all you need to do to tell if the motor is healthy

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to get the compression checked at work, and then I'll make my decision.

I'm thinking about running a TD05-14B from a DSM @ 8psi. Hopefully its not too much for the stock internals.

Thats how I started with a 14b turbo running pretty much everything of a DSM. Well I got addicted and I have a feeling it might happen to you. Before you know it you will be pulling out the motor getting ready for a rebuild and bigger turbo.
