d16a8 dohc(jdm ZC) & d16Y8 "crankshaft difference" ??
im thinking of doing the supra piston/b16rod combo thou i dont know if its suitable on my D16a8/ZC dohc due to the C/R being to low, has anyone done this to the ZC dohc? i ask due to those ive only heard of it to the D16Y8 &D16Z's. therefor im try'n to work out if the crankshaft is identical from the D16a8(jdm ZC) and the D16Y8, i know the piston bore size is an identical 75mm, and to is the chamber size diff ??
help out a noob please
many thanks

The ZC is the original DOHC D series engine from Japan. Several variants (including a SOHC came later.
The D16A1 is a USDM DOHC ZC.
The D16A8 is a Euro DOHC ZC with a catalytic converter
The D16A6 is a USDM equivalent of the SOHC JDM ZC.
The D16A9 is a Euro DOHC ZC without a catalytic converter
To answer your question, my ACL main and rod bearings say that they fit the ZC and D16A. I'm assuming they fit any D16A (A1, A6, A8, A9, etc)

sure, but arnt the C/R different?
so therefore i would think the set-up's would be completely different by using this aplication.

yeah the compression ratio is going to be different, the pistons are flat top pistons right? the d16a1 or zc pistons are raised, but the lowered comprssion isnt a bad thing unless you decide to stay n/a. if the piston when installed is flush with the top of the cylinder bore, it should have a compression ratio of 9:1 however you would definetly need to check the measurement and calculate the compression ratio.
