D16 turbo and i need some opinions

Ok so i have a stock d16z6 engine and i just broke 80,000 miles! And the motor is very healthy so I'm looking to turbo my DD and i have everything thought out and chosen everything except the turbo. I'm looking for around 220 hp on a stock block and im between mainly a t3 super 60 and a 50 trim t3/t4. Its my daily driver and i need to retain good mpg so im looking for boost to start picking up around 3500 rpm. What do you all think? And i have searched but i couldn't find anything that would match up with my setup either too much power or too soon boost :(

Sounds like a solid plan. I think a 14b or 16g would be better tho for that power

The t3 60 trim is the better of the two options you listed. a 16g is also a good choice.

I read that the 14b is good for about as much power at a super 60 but honestly i dont know too much about the Mitsubishi turbos. Reliability wise how good are they and they start pickin up boost in the mid 3k rpm? Also I've seen a few for sale for a little under a couple hundred is this about the price range?

i agree T3 super 60 will do the work.

the GT2860R also would be a good choice.

Buy a turbo worth more than the engine??

Not even once.

Yeah i mean im not on a budget per say but i mean i dont wanna spend too much. Ik a t3 super 60 is like $650 new on go-auto so im trying to stay under around $700 or so

You can get them used in good shape off of eBay for 300-350 or less.

a 14b would work as well but it would be more responsive than you like not to mention that depending on the pressure you run boost could start tapering off at higher rpm compared to the 60 trim or 16g holding boost solid across the rpm range.
