I'd recommend CP or Wiseco pistons, probably a set of Eagle rods, all new OEM or ACL bearings for the engine. Also get a better manifold than the OBX.

1. You're buying cheap pistons and no rods in a D series that is a no no. Even thought I did the exact same thing if you want to run big power you need to upgrade rods too. And you'll have to notch the block for big rods too. 2. OEM headgaskets are the way to go. 3. You'll gain like 5 hp from fiddling with the cam gear on a sohc leave it out. 4. If you only want 200hp just boost the stock motor and have it tuned right. 5. J-K tuning is in central PA and he's great, I also know of Xenocron in Jersey, don't know any NY tuners though, look in the tuner directory. Hope this helps.

My setup runs good, I didn't build mine for big power and since I drive it everyday year round I needed it to be reliable, and it is so...

Yeah def. ditch the nippion racing pistons and get nice one like je i have them and love them. Also like previously stated get nice rods with nice rod bolts most rods come with nice rod bolts. And finally I would get rid of that obx manifold cause they don't flow the best and will need to be supported because they can possibly break. If you're only trying to make 200 hp get a log but if you want more try to get a nice custom made equal lenght mani.

i got a 98 d16y7 with a y8 intake manifold, fuel rail, and injectors (75,xxx miles)
i'm saving up because its probally going to cost me $2000+

Is it better (power and realibility) to buy a kit like greddy or turbonetics, or build one up

I'm running a OBD1 PO6 ecu
Any advice on tuning/chiping?

what i expect is 200-250hp running 8-12lbs boost as my daily driver

feel free to drop some advice, or experiences </TD></TR></TABLE>

I plan on running SRP pistons/Eagles rods next season.
I got street tuned by a local tuner with cromePro for 11 psi. I love it. Has been running for a year now.

Don't let people dog you on your y7, look at my #'s with a t3 42/48. Your next investment should be the ex/si tranny too. Boost the stock motor and you should come close to 210 WHP.

I put 1200 into my setup, brand new turbo, tuned, everything.

Experiances: I love it. With the money I spent I can't ask for any better performance out of it. Great gas mileage too
