OK....We are running into fitment issues using the Rev Hard D-series manifold with a T3/T4 60-1. It seems that the outlet on the compressor housing is hitting the block...no biggie we shaved it back....but when the we tried to bolt up the slave cylinder the the block it hit too.....In order to resolve all of these problems we took the manifold and had it re-surfaced with an angle on the head side.....I have worked on D-series with the Drag manifold and this is not an issue....

Has anyone encountered this?
Should we have had a Drag manifold instead?
And does anyone know if Rev Hard fixxed this problem?

putting a turbo on that is the same size as your engine is bound to cause some fitment issues.. I am sure when rev hard build that manifold it was not designed for that turbo. How on earth do you plan to spin that? What are you hp goals?

hey howard,

hy man i am hearing from alot of people on this board,as well as others that a 60-1 is just to much turbo for the D series motors,unless we bore them to a 2.0..

maybe you should use a smaller turbo??

i am being told that a big t3-t4 will do us just fine..

I have a drag manifold and a d16y8 and hydraulic clutch, i hope that i dont run into this problem. Any one run my manifold? t/3 t/4 BTW

i am using the DRAG manifold, you wont have any fitment issues unless you are using a pig of a turbo like he is......
trust me i have seen this turbo and it is BIG!!!

he had to cut about 1/2 in off of he block just to clear...

What size t3/t4 are you using??

Hmmmm...I also run a 74 / q trim on my B18C...is that too big also??? Brian this is the same physical size turbo as yours ... Brian you know I have both the identical one and that larger trimmed turbo....both are the physical same size....neither fit with the REV HARD MANI. ....proly cause it wasnt designed for a 3" outlet turbo....After we get this thing together im gonna replace it with a Drag Manifold....

BTW.........If you wanna spool larger turbos....SPRAY IT!

And the HP level we are shooting for is ...whatever it can do w/o breaking hehe...

Heres the scoop....if you wanna use the T3/TO4E.....dont use a Rev Hard manifold....it tucks the turbo alot closer to the block. the Drag is nowhere near as close to the block.....The Rev Hard is good for something in the T3 catagory(smaller 2.5" outlets)

Sorry, we never designed that manifold to clear a 4" 60-1 inlet. The 3" inlet would barely clear. If your're putting this big of a turbo, i would guess this is a
mostly a full race car. therefore you might need a custom manifold. Or get rid of the AC and switch the inlet to the drivers side. Good Luck!

Your correct about the 4" outlet...but even with a 3" outlet your manifold did not fit at all...not even tight....in order for it to work about 3/8" had to be shave off the block area for the outlet....In order to solve this problem we took your manifold to the machine shop and had it shaved about 1/8" from the top to nothing to the bottom...then re-drilled the holes to accomodate this....this tilted the turbo away from the block a good 1"-1 1/4"....Everything fits now...Its All Good..

I have a Revhard manifold on my 96 SOHC and yeah, it's a bitch. With my T3/4 I had to bend the hydro lines all to hell to get it to fit, but it's pretty much the best D series manifold out there IMO. 60-1 seems pretty huge though..

Why don't you try the 60-1 hi-fi housing. It has a 2.75 inlet and should fit.
