What is your base timing set at? I agree that it looks pretty aggressive. Any EGT's or A/F's logged? And is this on pump gas?!

I'm guessing he is at 16 degree's... if he's at 12 then he has already probably blown his engine

Step away from the car/ecu/laptop. If you do not, I assure you, you will blow your engine.

First set of questions:
1) What does the ROM editor say in the idle portion of the ignition map?
2) Have you synched the dizzy up to what the rom editor says?
3) Have you touched the distributor at all?
4) Could you go outside and find out exactly how much timing you are running at idle?

These are all questions that absolutely need to be answered.

The Y8 has a base of 12 doesn't it? I don't have that engine so I never followed it.

Still agressive up top in the boost columns.

Yes it does... but if you set base timing in hondata at 16 and sync the dizzy you are set to go. If you set it at 12 it automatically will take 4 degree's out across the whole board of hi/low cam. Of course you will need to sync the dizzy up for 12.

You have WAY to much timing in that thing. I would take out about 10 degress. And add from there.

EDIT: I guess before we comment further, we need to know such things as compression and what gas you are running in the car to go any further. But I will just say, I have done stock Y8s, that are only running about 10* at 10 psi. Take a look at the stock Y8 timing maps.

Woo just checked timing moved from last year lol i was at about 20degs advanced. Well I totayl forget the timing marks on the crank the center one is 12 right on the Y8

This is a far more complicated issue than most know. I'd suggest not looking at things at such a basic level as its not that simple. If you continue to look at things in such a manner, you will have a blown engine in the end or atleast change HG's on a regular basis. Hint Hint, you want to run VERY little ignition timing at WOT.

Stop tuning your car if you do not know how to set the base timing. Go find a tuner ASAP. End of discussion.

I know how to set timing guy. I just don't have my good gun here i have just a reg gun and I have to use my crank pulley i got no manual here.

Ive looked now at 3 other friends of mine who run s300 and there ign maps at 8psi runn same 23-25 timing they were all tunned. I do not get it.

The first step of tuning should be synching up the timing at the distributor to what it says in the EMS. You cannot go to step 2 without doing step 1. DO STEP ONE. After you set the base timing to read 12BTDC in both Hondata and at the dizzy, then come back and ask for assistance.

Right now if I had to make a guess hondata has his base timing at 16* and since his dizzy is in the middle, his actual ignition timing is 6.25* at idle and probably about 12.75* from 12psi on.

That is really the only way he could get away with those ignition figures.

sync up your map (set idle columns to 12*) now take 10* off of the whole boost portion of the map, set your base timing to 12* (middle mark on crank pulley). get a det can made or go to the dyno to adjust timing up from there. its better to start with less then go up from there than fry your motor.
