OK, I'll respond...
Very cool article. I was already planning to do this, but seeing the pics was cool.
Gonna take it one step farther and throw some B18A/B rods in there and do some ceramic coating on the piston crowns, combustion chamber, and exhaust ports. Also gonna give the Uberchip a go, if I can score the editing software as well.
Going to try to get the turbo from a 300ZX (T3 60-1, i believe), and run hard lines for all fluids.
Open to comments on this setup, if there are any opinions out there.

Pengo, in the article they discuss using an FMU.
civicudesire, I'm just gonna chalk your post up to a lack of knowledge on the subject.
I will agree that you have to know what to look for in order to get solid parts, but in the end you are running almost a complete Mitsu setup. In this case, using a little intelligence and common sense will save you a decent chunk of change. I guess you couldn't tell everyone that you have a greddy, Drag, revhard, etc...
I'm OK with that though...

But getting a new or at least rebuilt turbo is worth the money. Used turbos are more trouble than they are worth and half the time you'll spend more on them than a new one...when it craps out in 5k miles and your car is billowing smoke, add the price of a rebuild to what you paid for the turbo it usually comes to more than a brand new one.

Also, the Bosch BOV is probably better than the DSM and possibly cheaper, plus all you need is a stub of pipe instead of a special flange. There's one made for Porsches that's supposed to be better than the Bosch many people use (from Volvos I think).

The best advice ever. Take it from experiance. NEVER buy a used turbo.

This brings us to a question I have wanted to ask regarding turbos. I will be getting a used turbo. What is involved in bebuilding them? Are there rebuild kits/parts available to the public?

Yeah, thanks for telling me all the problems with this setup that I already know

I was just posting it because it looked interesting... If I was to ever build this setup I would AT LEAST buy a rebuilt turbo, and a strong manifold. BOV and fuel managment.. It's just funny how far you can go with stock parts.... Mind you this was on a OLD *** CRX stock engine...... I don't think they were planning on it lasting to long.

Not to be argumentative, but it was a SOHC VTEC engine.
Did look beaten on though...

Don't get the 300zx t3. It has a weird 6 bolt exhoust housing and we could never get the but one bolt in to hold the dowpipe on. You would have to get a custom dp falnge made for it.

Go with either a saab or volvo t3 they are exactly the same. That's what I have now and it works pretty good.

You talking about the pierburg bovs? Most commonly found on "Volvo 740 Intercooler" models. Me and a few people i know are all running these BOVs. Top quality piece, and adjustible.
