Cutting up. Not sure if it is spark related.

Cutting up. Not sure if it is spark related.
This is on my old motor, but i am getting it back.
Before i sold it it made 433 @ 16psi and ran strong on 110octane (what it was tuned on).
The thrust washers were replace, new oil pump, and the motor was reassembled and put back in another car.
Get to the dyno, it makes 290 @ 9 psi. turn the boost to 12psi...and it starts cutting up. The first thing done was check gap, they were at .030 and then changed to .025. The same issue happened, just at 6000 rpms instead of 4500 rpms. So Pull the plugs back out, and gap them down to .018 and it starts cutting up at 6500rpms.
Unsure of what to do the tuner suggested to the guy who has my motor that he needs to change plug wires. So a new set of MSD wires went on..nothing. Suggested a new OEM cap and rotor. same thing. Put on a MSD blaster ss coil and MSD cap and rotor...same ****.
Only thing different on the motor from when i owned it to now is the fact i was running a HVC coil and digital 6plus and 110octane.
The guy is FED up with it, and im getting it back at a reasonable price, so why the hell not....but im worried i may be ripping this motor down now.
The tuner's only guess was that it was floating a valve at 12psi..but i just couldnt see that happening, because usually it pulls all the way no interuptions, but power flatlines.
Should i be worried about this setup going back in my car? ANY input at what it could be??? any help would be appreciated. thanks

You might check the compression if you are worried about the motor being hurt. Short of that, since you are making reasonable power I would try and go back to a fresh oem distributor. I have no problems on a stock ignition making 500whp+.
I'm running ngk 5238's gaped at .20 with ngk (blues) wires.

Re: Cutting up. Not sure if it is spark related. (king06)
i had a very similar problem. rev limit at 6500, gapped the plugs to .027. switched from 780cc (wasn't sure they were true 780cc) injectors to 550cc, switched between two s200, two p28 ecus, and even went to a s300. when we went to the s300 for some reason the 6500 rev limit cleared but after 2 pulls the sleeve cracked and that was all she wrote. still unsure what happened. weird thing is looking at the duty cycle while using the s200 we were over 90% duty (@6500 rpm) using the 550cc running only 9-10lbs. the highest number we could pull was 280 whp or so. this was on a completely stock b16 with an sc34. hope you get some insight of what your problem could be, no one seemed to know what the hell happened to mine
