Default Custom turbo OR turbo kits?

Like the topic says, what are the pros and cons of putting a turbo together or just buying a kit?
What would you buy and why?
TIA

a lot of times when you peice together your own kit, it will be much cheaper than going out and buying a pre made kit. Downside is, maybe you bought a product from somebody, and 5 months down the road you peice your kit together, and something you bought is defected.

I realize that everyone has to start somewhere, but please...start with the search function. My opinion is that if you have to ask whether or not you should get a kit you should get a kit. Also, I think kits are a waste of money, since you never get exactly what you want and almost all cut corners somewhere they shouldn't. There's alot of good info on here, just search the archives and in a few weeks ye shalls see the light.

I have been on a search for the past 3moths and yes I have searched here.
I wasnt able to find much info here on the archives 2 weeks ago, because its been down. It just came back up and I have been reading , but still didnt find enough info. You said they "cut corners" maybe thats what Im looking for... what does that mean?
