Custom Turbo Kits, how exactly do you make one?
I'm not building a honda right now, I just want to plan ahead, and get as much information as possible before hand.
I always hear that custom turbo kits are the best way to go, but how?
I've heard they have MUCH greater power potential, and I can already imagine their fit is better as well.
How could I make one myself, are there any books that I need to read in order to fully understand what I am doing. Or are these custom turbo kits pretty straight forward.
Also how can I make one, were can I get the supplies and ect.
I would like to be drowned in info.

In a sense ALL turbo kits are custom. No two builds are the same. You can get them close but that's about it. Follow the advice in two posts previous to mine and educate yourself thoroughly.

It basically comes down to needing a certain list of parts, but the details vary from setup to setup.

I have it, the book is very good, but also fairly dated. The conceptuals are all still the same though.
"custom" turbo kits are just another way of saying that you don't buy someone else's premade bolt on kit, but rather collect parts individually. By doing this, you can tailor a build to what you want.
Basically, you need the following.
Turbo manifold
Turbo
Wastegate (assuming turbo has no internal wastegate)
Downpipe and dump tube
Intercooler piping
Intercooler
BOV
Turbo oil/return feeds
Then all of the supporting stuff, ECU, injectors, fuel pump, clutch, etc.
There is nothing overly difficult about it and it has been done so many times at this point that you could basically pick you favorite cookie cutter build and copy it.

Honestly, at the point that we are at now with the internet being so vast and this kind of thing being so well documented, books will be a bit of a narrow viewpoint on the subject. You're better off looking at forums and searching through the archives for a few weeks. You'll learn more than you think that way.

Maximum Boost by Corky Bell is a good read on the basics and fundamentals of turbo charging
From the principles of sizing turbos, wastegate size and manifold priority, manifold construction theory, inter cooling etc
But that's the only book I would look at, unless you plan on building and engine.
You'll learn so much more by reading the FAQs. Searching the forums and looking at setups similar to what you're looking to do.
