If I were to make my own turbo kit using a hondata, How much do you think I could pice one together for (using new parts).
(As a side note, my block will be getting built w/ je pistons/crower rods/decked/sleeved/honed-I WILL be ready for boost!)

t3/t4 for the turbo, other than that I havent commited myself to anything as of yet

cost about the same or more than a given kit. I would start wit the drag group buy and modify it from there.

Are there any differences in the turbo's out there these days (the brands)?

I see that basically..people want the T3/T4's...as do I...but is it all the same from Turbonetics, Garret, or IHI as long as they are ball bearing? (Assuming the trims and all are the same that is).

Why do some people prefer to get it from IHI, are they understood as better or something?

ihi doesnt make a t3/t4 they make different models that are similar the ihi are rhb7 series is what the apex guys use.


Most of the APEX products utilize the ihi turbo GARRET is honeywell company that makes turbochargers. and ofcourse most kits include th turbonetics trim turbos.

All of them are great when installed properly.
