CRX w/ B18C--which is better for fuel feed line? banjo bolt or AN hose ends?
Hey guys,
I'm gonna be ordering a bunch of fittings and SS lines so I can redo my fuel rail, fuel lines and catch can setups.
For the fuel feed line which one would be better? a banjo fitting on an SS line? or just an AN to 12mm x 1.25 fitting scewed into the fuel filter? Also I'm looking for the best angle fitting to get. I dont know if a 90 degree would work, or if I would have to get a 120 degree fitting like I see a lot of people using.
#1 -6 AN fitting with 12mm x 1.25 banjo fitting ($19)
#2 90 degree -6an to 12mm x 1.25 ($30)
#3 120 degree -6AN fitting with a -6an to 12mm x 1.25 fitting in the filter ($29)
Also I just remembered I have a used setup similar to #3 already. However it is a 90 degree fitting instead of a 120 degree fitting. I'll have to check and see if the 90 degree angle will work first. Both of my 4 options which one will work best? or are they all pretty much the same? The only thing I noticed is the banjo fitting said "carburetor inlet" on summitracing, but I'm guessing it should still be ok to use for fuel injected setups.
And also do you guys know who makes high flow fuel rails that I can drill and tap myself? it would be nice to buy one that already has injector holes and the bolt holes for a B18C Skunk2 intake manifold. But I want to have the inlet and outlet holes drilled and tapped to my specifications. I have a spare high flow rail sitting here but it has the stock FPR hole on it. I suppose I could have the stock FPR hole drilled tapped and then I could seal it. Then I could use the return hole on the side, which it already has.
so what do you guys think?
TIA

Are you going from a stock filter to the rail? If so I am thinking option #2.

Banjo fittings create restrictions, especially the banjo bolt itself. I would go with option 2 or some other form of hose end besides banjo if you are aiming for high HP.

I got the complete kit for Stan. I had a AEM Universal Fuel Filter laying around that I used. I use a banjo on the Fuel Pump and ran -6 to the bay. Pressure is fine. Call Stan for some options.

I actually thought of the same exact thing right after I posted this thread. This is going to be on a stock fuel filter. I think I may just use the fitting I already have which is like the #3 except with a 90 degree hose end instead of a 120 degree.

hey again guys,
I was looking at the Aeromotive fuel rail for the Tegs p/n 14112 and I think I'm gonna pick this one up to go along with my Aeromotive FPR p/n 13109. I just wanted to ask one thing about the Aeromotive FPR though. Does it allow the stock FPR to be bolted right to the fuel rail? I read Aeromotive's description of the fuel rail and it said it was made to be used with the FPR 13109. So I'm guessing that the rail cannot have a stock FPR bolted right to it. I dont want a fuel rail that has ports for a stock FPR. All I want is a high flow rail with an inlet and outlet and of course the 4 injector holes.
