Default Critique my dyno chart. GSR t3/t4 need advice!!

Setup:

95 GSR in 97 Civic Coupe
10 flat compression, bored .020 over, Arias Pistons
Stock Rods
Crower valvetrain including stage one vtec cams
AEM Cam gears set 0/0
Timing I'm pretty sure is stock.
Maxrev log manifold
Garrett t3/t4 57 trim, .60/.63 a/r's (4-bolt donwpipe style)
Boost starts 3300, full at 45-4700rmps
Tial wastegate, Hallman MBC set at 10psi
2.5 inch downpipe and exhaust, no cat
255lph Intank walbro
HONDATA
I think thats it?

261whp 174lbs tourqe

Anywho, my chart is all over the place, no smooth lines at all and when vtec kicks in there is a huge dip in the power curve. I think it is cause the cams are not tuned. The Hondata was tuned by secret services in tampa. They even said I should have hit more around 280whp. They suggested I replace the guts in my dizzy too as they may be old.

Anyone have some suggestions? Also, why would they not tune the cams too?

Thanks.

The HP does seems a little on the low side for 10psi....

I see what you mean by a little jagged. The afr looks good. Has he tried maybe moving the VTEC xover futher up the rev range to see what effect it will have?

Yea he did mention he tried that, but it wouldn't go away.

I think it is cause there is a lot of valve overlap on my cams (crower stage one) it just needs to be dailed out to remove that dip.

As for the rest of the jagged I don't know, any advice is great!!

p.s. thanks for loading pic for me.

john is a very conservative tuner he is probably keeping your timing
low because of your compression...and i am surethe cams are not helping much either
if u still got the stock ones put them back in. its worth a try

Looks a bit rich to me as well.
Try removing secondaries.
Bump the VTEC up to about 5000 or so.
Advance the Exhaust cam gear 2-3degrees to help eliminate overlap.
Play with plug gap and timing some more, but dont advance it any.

Whats the fuel setup?
Pump on stock injectors? Whats static pressure set at? Any FMU?

I just laid 303whp/220ft/lb on 11psi, with a super restrictive muffler (Apex Dunk...I know, I know, old school.)
The new muffler should be in soon. Gonna go retune and get that number higher.

Vtec is 5300
plugs NKG gapped .28
Walbro 255lph pump/ dsm 450 injectors

John said to get rid of the cams but I really don't think they are too big, they are pretty much CTR profile's. I think they just need dailed in. I'll try advancing exh cam 2-3 and and see what that does.

I know removing secondaries would probably gain more up top but this is my daily driver, wouldn't taking them out kill the low end?

Think I'm rich? I thought a 12 a/r across the board was great for turbo motor?

My tuner tends to run the A/F around mid 12's.
My plugs are cleaner than ever, look almost stock.....but I am also running MSD ignition.

Everything looks good on your setup.
The only thing I can think of would be your fuel setup.
I think your 450's are about maxed out as far as duty cycle is concerned.
The cams may play a role in your dissapointment, try tuning them some or pulling them in favor of stockers, or turbo cams.

And an ignition system never hurts either.
I noticed your gap at .028, try increasing that a little and see how it feels.
Also I would consider checking your base timing if no one has done that yet.

Oh, and the secondary issue.
Yes you will notice it, but with the turbo you can tune it out on your hondata.
I need to scan my chart and let you look at the curve.

EDIT:
Add dyno chart & specs.

98 GSR
81.5mm Probe Ceramic Coated Pistons
IB Spec Rods
Drag T3/T04E - I dunno the specs
Hondata 3b, 550cc, Hondata IM Gasket
2.5" DP, Exhaust, Apexi Dunk muffler(shitty)
MSD6a, Blaster SS, BKR7E gap .036
New muffler and water injection next.

well IMO you should bring your vtec up to about 5500 or so might help pull that dip up.another reason for it is the ecu pulls out some timing at the set crossover. and my guess by your torque output your tuner was concerned about your 10:1 comp and in order to keep cylinder temps down and fight of detination he pulled out a lot of timing from the motor. looks like your running about 13 to 16 degrees max timing. would go up to about 18 degrees max timing but no more than that. also i would invest in some parts that move air in and out of the motor a little more like a throttlebody or intake manifold might help. finally i would say your crower satge one's are ok. they still have more lift and duration than the gsr cams.tho the crowers run about 28 degrees of overlap compared to the gsr's 17 degrees. but i suppose cam gears will help that a bit. ask your tuner what kinda timing he ran and tell us i could be wrong hehe. oh yea msd will help a lot in the upper rpm range to.

I've always "heard" that msd or crane or any upgraded ingition doesn't work well with hondata??

I have a crane system but I've never fully hooked it up, I still need a modified dizzy cap.

Cool, thanks for the thoughts guys, keep them coming!! Once I can get back to the tuner I will be asking many more questions.

Sounds right to me. Your probably running stock TB, IM and head.

You probably have some bottle necks in your exhaust too.

Fix those and I bet another 35 hp is hiding in there (at same boost level).
