Default Crankshaft pulley chipped off , can I still use?? help asap

my dad and I were installing my engine. My crankshaft pulley got caught. He jacked it up and this is what happened. Can I still use?????

I would think this might throw the entire rotating assembly out of balance...but I may be wrong.

ive had the crank pulley break like that getting caught on the frame if your not carefull.. i ended up still using it and didnt have any real problems with it.. i dont know if in the long run it will cause any problems but it was fine in my old car for about a year....

i think it could do some kind of damage in the long run, but most of my motors had chips on the pulley

Would you buy a new one??? My dad, said since he wasnt watching out carefully. He said he would buy a new one.

my pulley was chipped like that as well, although a bit more. i didnt need that groove so i just had it machined down at my local machine shop. worked great.

chip free crank pullys are cheap
25 bucks shipped...

better safe then sorry
