Default Crankcase pressure blowing turbo seals?

I put a factory-rebuilt Garrett T3 turbo on my LS about a month ago. I drove around with it barely boosting for a couple weeks while I got special clamps to hold everything together properly under boost. The only thing I forgot to do was cap off the line that runs from the intake to the valve cover and put an open filter on the valve cover side. Everything was fine, boosted with np, had a couple short runs and everything looked good. It stayed fine for about a week until I ran it really hard against a VR4 about 2 weeks ago, now it smokes and oil is coming out like it's got a blown seal. My question is, did the pressure building up in the crankcase/oilpan not allow the oil to drain properly and blow the seals? I thought it wouldn't be too big of a deal for just that once, but apparently it screwed something up worse than I thought.

Thanks

That is most likely (I am assuming you meant charge piping to valve cover and not intake to valve cover.). Just cap off the charge piping. Also, vent the cankcase to atmosphere (remove the pcv valve).

Yeah sorry, that's what I meant. I actually used my existing cai as one of the charge pipes so that's why I referred to it as an intake without thinking about it.
