Default Crankcase pressure = ruined turbo?

I just finished an install of a GT28R and I'm having oil building up in the charge pipes. I took the oil drain hose off and noticed quite a bit of positive pressure coming from the oil pan. I took the PCV (fairly clogged) drilled it out and replaced it. Still the oil pan seemed to have a good amount of positive pressure in it. I'm assuming the oil leak is from the pressure issue and I'll fix that. What I'm wondering though is, did I just just trash the turbo? Or will it stop leaking through the compressor once I fix the pressure issue?

TIA

I'm running a catch can. During testing I didn't have the vacuum of the intake routed to the catch can, so the path of least resistance for the pressure would lead it out the oil return from the turbo in the oil pan. I know that the pressure is a problem, and I'm taking steps to fix that.

What I'm really concerned with is if the turbo is already ruined or not, not what the right way to relieve the pressure is.

Thanks for the input. Do you have more details on maybe other instances of where this happened and the turbo was okay?

Also, It's quite unnessisary to tell me to search. The thread you linked is hardly relevant to my question. It is a good thread though.

I guess I should rephrase my question to make sure no one thinks I'm asking how to fix my crankcase pressure issue:
Has anyone had a turbo leak out the compressor due to positive crankcase pressure? And if so, once you fixed the pressure issue, was the turbo okay, or did it continue to leak?

how is that thread hardly relevant to your question? its the definitive thread ABOUT relieving crankcase pressure...

it also happens to talk about crankcase evacuation.

an instance where somebody had a turbo smoking a LOT from positive crankcase pressure=myself, and another buddy of mine, splitime.

we both had crappy PCV (POSITIVE crankcase vent) systems, and the clogged (his froze! haha) and the turbo became the vent. TONS AND TONS of smoke, like a smokescreen.

fixed it, and we're both daily driving on those turbos still. fix it soon, and you'll be fine.

sounds like yours is barely leaking. we were dumping oil into HOT exhausts....good luck man

a little bit of oil in the charge piping is quite alright... lots isnt.

pretty much every turbo leaks a bit of oil..

Cool - thats what I needed to know. Thanks again.

The thread you link is relevant to my issue, but not my question. Wasn't relevant enough to assume I hadn't searched. I don't know. I just get defensive when people assume I didn't search.

As adam mentioned... my lines froze in my rigged (moutain dew!) catch can and clogged... thus closing off valvecover and pcv system... my turbo then became the vent.

Lets just say... I felt like Spyhunter for a couple miles until it dawned on me what the issue might be

I've had 0 issues with it since i fixed it right then. The residual oil burnt off and no smoke at all since.

Have you got a oil feed restrictor?

Ya, I've got a restrictor. When I ran the car with the oil drain unhooked, I verified that the oil getting into the turbo isn't excessive. I think the pressure is okay now, I just haven't tested it.
