Crank pulley wont turn when hand cranking
Im just finishing up installing a new motor and im timing it right now. I have the notches on the cam gears pointing at eachother and when i go to hand crank the motor, the crank pulley turns about an inch and then stops and wont turn anymore. The bottom head cranked over fine when the motor was out of the car. What could this be. I need help asap. Thank you

Re: Crank pulley wont turn when hand cranking
Is the crank at TDC as well? You have to make sure both the cams AND the crank are at TDC at the same time. You may not be able to turn it 'by hand' per-say, but if everything is at TDC you should be able to rotate it with a wrench and a 19mm socket on the crank pulley bolt. Remember, turn the motor counter-clockwise.
If it takes TOO much force, you may have other issues that should probably be addressed before trying to set up the timing, but by no means should you force it to rotate. Good luck!
