I was doing my usual engine bay inspection recently and noticed a nasty crack in my manifold (which by now is older than my grandpa) It is one of the original log type manifolds sold by SFP back in the day. I noticed a 3/4 long crack between the 1 and 2 runners, at the join of #1 runner and the collector This absolutely sucks... I cannot afford a new manifold right now. Sooo... since I am not a wuss boy... I'm not gonna bother putting up the [Whiney voice] I've had it, I'm out of the scene... [/Whiney voice] thread. I plan to give up on turbo completely and go all motor (until I can afford a new manifold )

I am not going to try to crack the mani any longer and decided to remove the turbo/mani this weekend (and prolly whole exhaust system) and switch back to my stock header and exhaust. Whadda ya think ? a 9.0:1 compression LSVT with a stock exhaust AHAHAHAHA...he heh heh heh HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... I'm depressed.


Heck... this manifold sucked anyways.....at least I won't blow up my motor !

No, this is one of the original log types... this sucker has been around for a while.. no guarantees here. My manifold is over 4 years old and was 'custom made'.

More than likely, however, I will be replacing it with a new SFP manifold in the future (the ones with the 3 year guarantee) But I'm gonna haveta tap that with the EGT bung too !

why cant you just weld the crack closed? hell you could just weld a piece of metal on top of it and make it even stronger.

I could have that done, but I want to go with a new manifold... with a warranty maybe (SFP) I need some more space in the front, so a newer mani would allow me that option. or maybe I just want to bruise some knuckles. The downside is that I gotta bust my *** in the dirt again after all this crap AND buy a new manifold and then get a new DP made ! sux !

JB weld that thing closed you can seal the crack and have a good as new intake

Dude... take a valium.... This manifold can be welded shut and will work just fine. I would have no problem selling it on ebay... A bad person would sell it for like $500 to some doofus, but that manifold could get someone into turbo and save them alot of $$$ ! I know about buying bum products... I just lost $900 on a useless block and crank.. and the guy won't call me back, but he didn't tell me how f*&ked up it was ! I just don't want it (manifold) anymore... I've had it for a long time and just want to upgrade to a tubular style (prolly).

Hell, I betcha you'll see me posting about manifold design and opinions soon.
