Default Could a 3" open downpipe cause a 5psi boost creep?

Using a Tial 35 or 38mm wastegate (not sure what size), with a 5psi spring. It holds 5psi good till about 5500ish, but by the time i redline at 7200 im getting up to 10psi. I am currently only running a 6" long 3" diameter open downpipe cuz i just got my turbo setup installed and havnt had an ehxaust shop finish it yet. Could this be the cause of my creep?

yes it could , because the wastegate cant keep up with the open downpipe, put a exhaust on and see what happens.

yes, it can be a cause of boost creep. it would help a lot more if you posted more about the setup, then someone can tell you 100%
