Default confused about VAFC and other piggyback computers...

i know VAFC modifies MAP voltage to tune fuel and if you cut too much voltage as in the VAFC hack, it will screw up timing and advances it.

now, how does other piggyback computers work...i.e. greddy e-manage, PMS by efi systems, perfect power smt6 and etc? from what i understand, these piggybacks also modify the MAP voltage for fueling and they need larger injectors like the hack for boost, but i haven't heard anyone mentioning that it will screw timing.

so what's the difference between vafc and other piggybacks like those mentioned above? and why are they better?

VAFC/SAFC or Hondata or standalone is my best bet on fuel management...
AFC is easy to monitor and tuning on your own, if you dont have money on tuning by the shop...
If tuning by a shop, then go Hondata or standalone cause those are tuff to tune with and the outcome is very good on power gaining on your boost sequenses...

All other units is basicly works out the same thing...It just different units, different control units, different tuning devices you have to worry on how to control it...that all it does...

i keep hearing this timing and afc talk, but when my car was being tuned the tuner said the timing was fine and that the afc does absolutely nothing to cause the timing to advance. i'm running a btm only set to 1/3 degree per pound of boost and my corrections are anywhere from -45 to -50 and i'm not seeing any problems.
