Default Conflicting Bosch 044 Flow Charts

Currentl setup is a single bosch 044 in-tank, -6 lines, aeromotive fpr and filter, 750cc bosch gen 4's.

Application is a 6 cylinder, so I have 6 injectors of course.

So 6 injectors * 0.75L/min * 0.9 for duty cycle = 4.05L/min of required fuel flow.

This chart shows the 044 as capable of flowing at least 4.1l/min up to 90psi:

But on this chart is drops below 4L/min at 4.5 bar (like 67psi):

That sucks. BIG difference between these 2 charts, at least for my app.

Different test procedures or WTF?

It was a huge pita to swap the 044 in form the 255hp I had before.

I had hoped the single 044 would be good for ~500whp on gasoline with 60psi base pressure but now I'm not so sure.

I will watch pressure on the dyno but I'd like to have an idea what to expect. If the 044 is actually as crappy as the 2nd chart suggests I might not even bother doing any pulls until i put a 2nd pump in. Which is what I wanted to avoid in the 1st place. ugh.

Has anyone run a single 044? What sort of numbers did you make and at what base pressure/boost pressure?

Thanks guys! lolgaysmilie

1. charts could be different based on test voltage ran to the pump
2. Why you running 60psi base on 6 750's to make 500whp
3. 60psi base on 750's yields higher than 750cc/min for your required fuel calculation.
4. Yes your pump will flow enough fuel to make 500whp...actually your walbro would have.

1)Yeah could be here's a test from AMS that confirms the 1st chart (the better flowing one) test was at 14v.

2) Per #3 below they are 750cc at 60psi. With a BSFC of 0.6, 6 injectors, and 90% duty cycle I need 750cc/min for 650bhp. Is my math wrong?

3) They are flowed to 750cc/min at 60psi not at the usual 43.5. FIC seem to do that.

4) Yeah it's looking good, thanks for the confirmation. Yeah I agree the walbro would have as well, but I re-did all of the fuel lines last winter and wanted room to grow so I figured why not.

Yes good point - I forgot to mention about the wiring - while I do have it re-wired with big wires direct to a relay and to the battery, I am using one of the little square bosch relays that claim to be 40A relays, but they seem pretty wimpy, and it gets noticeably warm.

I will be getting rid of that relay for something beefier.

Not sure what a modified 255lph intank is, sorry.

A modified Walbro in the Evo/ DSM world usually means they did the bypass mod to them. Basically modding bypass valve so that the pump will run more pressure before the internal bypass valve bleeds it off.
