completly stumed here......can anybody help.
i have a fully built ls motor and it has been running perfectly (aside from the few, small little bugs turbo honda motors seem to get from time to time) but recently decided to go ls vtec for the additional power. the first time i installed this new head i found out that coolant was somehow mixing in the oil. so i tryed another new head gasket, and still the same thing. then i pulled the head again and took it the machine shop for testing (cracks in the head and anything else like that which could create this problem). the machine shop insisted that the head was in perfect condition so i got ANOTHER head gasket and put it back together for a third time and still...........coolant in the oil. there is no oil getting into the coolant though and this was never a problem before. it seems that its getting in there at a pretty fast rate also because only after about 10-15 minutes of running it seems to have close to a quart of coolant mixed in there. has anybody dealt with this or can anybody maybe give me a little direction. thanks in advance.

what head gasket are you using? Did u check the block for cracks? With that much coolant that fast make sure u dont have a coolant line mixed with a vac line on the intake manifold.

its a oem head gasket no warpages.......remember the vehicle ran perfectly fine up until i put the vtec head on it, also i just got the head back from the machine shop and they insisted that the head was in perfect condition. as far as a coolant line being mixed up somewhere.......... i cant remember how many times i've checked and double checked and triple checked all of that. this is why im completly lost right now.

I've had machine shops make some pretty stupid mistakes. If I had that problem I'd check it with a straight edge and get it pressure tested.

He'd have an embossment around the water jacket with either gasket, just with an LS gasket he'd have to plug the VTEC hole in the head or it would pump all his oil out on his driveway in about four seconds. Guess how I figured that out.

And they are not to long and holding the head up.I have seen that.Sunk sleeve? Leaking at base of sleeve into lower case?Try pulling the pan and pressurize the system with a hand pump system checker. You maybe able to see the leak from below.
