Re: Complete Guide for Drag 3 Turbo Installation (dasher)
just noticed....
"5) Remove the coil wire or Pgmfi fuse to prevent the engine from cranking.
6) Place oil feed line in a bucket (end which is normally connected to turbo) while other end remains connected to the engine. Crank the engine 10 times with 10 second pauses in between each attempt to fill about a quart of oil in the bucket. Now that the Oil feed line has been purged connect it to the turbo. Once connected crank the engine over 5 times to prime the turbo."

Quick Question....
Do you actually suggest redlinning the car after JUST installing the turbo? That sorta throws the theory of break-in out the door...

You only need to break in a freshly built motor , not an old one which you decide to turbocharge.
And as for breaking in a freshly built motor, many guys would agree that you actually do want to have a more aggressive break-in procedure to seat the rings quickly. Their are generally 2 theories in breaking in an engine, but lets not get into that here ... do a search.

I've got a question, what did you end up doing with the Fans after the install was complete? Did you use stock fans or go with FAL slim fans?
Fantastic write-up by the way!

Used a Pusher style fan for the ac side and had to cut the stock radiator fan a bit on the passenger side... or you could get a slim-line fan instead.

This was probably already asked before, and unless I'm blind haven't seen it.
But what do *you* recommend hooking up the vacuum lines to, in particular the BOV and the wastegate?
Source the vacuum to the booster hose?
Thanks.

Re: Complete Guide for Drag 3 Turbo Installation (poison)
I recommend keeping things simple and clean -
use a vacuum manifold sold by Mcmastercarr and make sure you have a thick line connected to the brake booster line before the check valve. Aftermarket Intake Manifolds like the Elderbrock IM have a bung already in the end to connect a vacuum manifold to so you can leave the brake booster line alone.
By using a properly set up vacuum manifold box you can insure that all your sources receive an adequate amount of pressure and at the same time be able to check all of the connections quickly and easily from one source instead of looking all over your engine bay.
