Default comparing these 3 precision turbos 6262, 6265, 6765

what would be the estimated spool diff in a 2.0 all with t3 v band turbine housings
the 6765 looks the best but it dosn't seem to have a billet wheel option yet how much would that hurt spool, would the 6265 spool the same?

are the precision vband turbine housings on these turbos 3" outlet?

I know for a fact the 6262s will make over 730whp in T3 flange. My buddy has one on an 83mm gsr it made 738 and 512

I have one 6265 with .82 vband on the way, but should I use it or wait for the 6765 billet?

so far is the the 83mm GSR w/ Precision SC6262S dyno

and the ams setup on 6765
AMS CNC Head
AMS VSR intake manifold
AMS Race FMIC
AMS built 2.0L

This was at peak boost of 42 psi
The other run being compared was our first test using the smaller billet 67/62

how laggy would the 6765 be on a 2.0gsr sfwd setup?

or is this too big?

Considering people run 72mm turbo's on the regular, a 67mm is not too big. Its not the same turbo but I would imagine the 6765 is comparable in spool to a T67

more info on the 6262
Precision 6262 Runs 8.98 @ 156
Within 5 passes we ran 8.98@156mph w/ 784whp @ 49psi.. Making it the only t3 turbo ever to make it in the 8's..

With this new 6765 Billet unit I am sure WE can make 900whp and send my RS into the 8.6 range.. AMS has already proven it can make mid 800's on 42psi.

and a comment from al at dynoflash

I want to also comment that for 99.9999% of you driving on the roads you will enjoy the 62/62 much more than a 67/65. The 62/62 is IMHO a hard to beat street trurbo and combines great low end and great peak power

The 67 gets a bit laggy for most IMHO for a street car unless its a 2.3

I havn't personally try'd the 6265 I have now since im thinking the 6262 would be better but I want to run a high 9 sec 1/4 so also thinking about the 6765 but also don't want full boost to take till past 7k rpm lag.

wanted to maybe sell the 6265 local, but maybe the buyer will let me test it first to show spool and stuff

Thanks for posting this guys, I just purchased the Precision 6262 ball bearing and I was so indecisive on whether to go with a 6262 or a 6265. I was afraid the 6265 would be a little to laggy, makes me a little happier in the decision i made... Thanks again.

what is the pros and cons of running alot of boost(40+) on the 6262 vs. running a slightly bigger turbo 6265 or 6765? I would think that iat's are really high on that 8 sec. evo with a 6262.

No one can do that with accuracy. really. That's one of those where you're going to need you and a friend to take the plunge and find out. There's a lot of data that is needed before that can even be remotely fathomed.

im getting a 6262 billet journal bearing im only shooting for 350-400whp my turbonetics compressor wheel fins got chewed up at the track last month somehow not even smoking though so new turbo on the way..

Does anyone know if turbonetics has replacement BILLET compressor wheels for sale or where to buy one if they do ? might try a frankenstein turbo setup if the price is right thanks

Why would you get a 6262 for that much power? Why not just get a garrett 57 trim? will make just as good power with a quicker spool time. sc6262's seem to shine at higer boost levels

No. No legitimate company sells billet wheels individually. Getting a 6262 just for 350-400whp is way overkill, but thats for you to decide. There are other choices from different companies that are good in-betweens but you'll need to look around.
