Default clutch questions...did some searching already...need advise please...

hey guys ive been doin some searching on the board but my question was not quite answered...i need a new clutch for my 96 prelude si turbo...im lookin into act cuz it seems that everyone hasnt had problems with it...my car is daily driven so i need something that isnt harsh but still will grab...i want something that has a stiffer pedal feel but not too hard to the point its a workout just to drive the car...anyway im boosting 5-9 lbs right now but im wanna be running between 375-425 ish whp after everything....what clutch do u guys suggest i use? im either looking at the heavy duty pp with performance organic street disc or the xtreme pp with organic street disc..which one do u guys think give me a nice daily driver pedal feel and smooth engagement with the capability to hold big power still? or is there another act combo that would work better? thanks in advance!

act organic disc is only good for 250 torque.. the xtreme plate and a sprung 6 puck ceramic is your best bet.. i'd get an unsprung hub but you cant slip it as much..

yeah, get unsprung hub...

I have clutchmaster stage 5, red PP and 3 puck solid disc, you'll get used to it....is not all that bad other than the chattering once in a while

on the site it says that the organic performance disc is good for ~370 torque...is thats true?...i thought if i got a 6 puck the engagement would be harsh...not suitable for daily driving...i want something thats gonna be smooth that i dont have to fight to press the pedal...and something that wont make me jerk when im trying to drive...gotta have something smooth for all that gay *** traffic...thanks again guys

Thats what I'm running but I dont play on your power/torque playground (wish I did).

If I had to do something different I would get a fixed disc/puck (no springs). I want the harsh engagement not the occasional bouncing.

if the SS disc cant hold the power, cant i just buy the 6 puck and change it to the 6 puck without having to buy a new press plate?..someone told me that can be done...is thats true?

Yep. May have to have the fly surfaced in between.

Wouldnt even consider the ACT heavy duty for your app. Saw you mentioned something about it.

Anytime your changing clutch discs and not using a new flywheel, I'd have it resurfaced.

Both the new clutch disc and the flywheel will then have trued and parallel surfaces.

Kind of like the resurfacing of rotors for new brake pads arguement. You can put em on without resurfacing but it wont last as long, etc.
