I put a cm stage 3 kit on my 94 civic last night (d16z6) and noticed that the pedal feel was noticably firmer than the stock clutch.....I have put a few of these stage 3 kits on b-series cars with no noticable difference in pedal feel...I was getting a little paranoid last night cause I was in such a hurry to put it all together I forgot to look at the clutch disc where it says "flywheel side", and thought I might have stuck it on backwards. , but everything else is fine..It has about 30-40 miles on it with no funny noises or chattering, so I figured I put the disc on the correct side.....Any comments would be helpful to why the pedal is firmer would be appreciated...BTW, I called cm, and they said it should feel just like stock..........thanks

The pedal is supposed to be firmer, thats why it is an upgraded clutch..

But its a hydro clutch.... i dont think you should feel any more pedal effort....

I realize that it may "supposed" to be firmer, however my concern was that my old cm stage3 in a b-series car was just like the stock feel, and this d-series car is much firmer......Anyone have this exact clutch in a hydro d-series car??????

I have a stage 3 clutchmasters clutch in my R; pedal pressure is slightly firmer than stock, but the thing that worries me is that it engages soooo damn high; like a half a centimeter before full release. Is that normal???? I'm worried as well!

My CM stage 5 clutch engagement is really high as well. Probably like an inch or two from the top.. works fine for almost a year now

Btw, its supposed to feel like stock, so don't worry.

Yeah, I know its supposed to feel like stock, but what I am saying is it does not ..It feels a good bit firmer, where others I have felt (b-series) feel like stock as cm claim it should be.........thanks though..keep the info coming...

well i had the stage 3 in my D series for about 30,000 miles, and it was much stiffer peddle pressure than stock.

I think you can handle the extra pressure hehe. I bet clutchmaster has never even driven one of there own stage 3 clutches on a d series before.

I wouldn't worry about having put it in backwards too much...I know someone who *cough* (me) has put one in backwards before and you can't release the clutch period in any gear or neutral without it killing the engine.

theres no way technically to put it backwards and not notice, by puttin the disc backwards on the flywheel, the springs will not allow the pres plate to be installed right ... basically the matin surfaced will not mate on where the bolts go........

Seemed to go in backards pretty easily to me...and it technically sucked *** to rip it all back apart at 4am. But I see what your saying about some clutches having a lot more offset on one side than the other. And then on an unsprung...its really easy to fubar if your in a hurry.

Yeah, I am over the whole "backwards clutch thing" now...I usually would not do some dumb *** **** like that...note: (I said usually )..However I was kind of baffled that this clutch has a much heavier pedal feel than the same exact kit I put in my old b-series car...

Direp:::Your probably right about clutchmasters ...However I may not be able to handle all of this d-series power, I might have to sell it and buy a vw or something.....lol
