What are the symptoms of a clutch master cylinder going bad? My tranny is going into gears a little harder than it should. I dont think its the tranny because it just swapped to a ex tranny and its doing the same thing. The clutch disc has some meat left...Maybe the pressure plate is screwed. Master cylinder wearing out???? Its a sohc with centerforce dual friction running 8 psi. ANy clues?????

Air in the system? Usually when the clutch m/c goes bad, doesn't it leak? Have you been losing any fluid?

if the mater is going there is most likely fluid on the inside of the firewall behind the clutch pedal some are a little leaky ans still be fine i heard but if it alot of fluid most likely it is bad

i had that problem. the clutch disk had a broken piece and that was the culprit.

hmmm....well im not loosing fluid, but on the inside of the firewall, where the rod comes out of the master cylinder, it seems to bee a little leaky maybe. Its supposed to have a little grease on it i think, but mine seems to have excessive lubrication on it. Hmmmm. Im stumped.

I having the same problem. I was told it was the pressure plate since I still have the clutch fluid filled to the top.
See if u can start off in fourth gear and third gear with very little throttle.
If u can and it dosen't stall it is the pressure plate.
