chances are those two clutches will be a little harsh. i have the ACT XTR6 in mine and I love it. It takes some getting used to but driving it in traffic is nothing for me.

Id get a act xtss (xtremme pressure plate with a hybrid street disk) before using a 6puck. The 6puck is unsprung - it will chatter..ALOT. By going with a huge pressure plate, and a street disk, it will have good engargment and be really smooth. But still hold a ton of power.

I used the xtss in my sohc for years..i loved it.

Mind if I ask a question within this thread pertaining to the topic (beyond the one I just asked writing this) ?

Nah, I search my a-- off the time for myself as well as others, it's where the username came from after hours of searching all the time when it expires. I found the answer though.

Differences between sprung and unsprung clutches?

Here is more information for the original poster as well since I don't have experience in another clutch as of yet.

I use the ACT xtreme pressure plate and street disc. Rides super smooth and allows you to ease off really nice. I can still stand still on hill using just the clutch staying at like 1000 rpm but it will bark 17s in third to. Best of both worlds. No chatter either. It was a little tougher to press down then stock but i got used to it within a week and now it's unnoticable.

A 6-puck unsprung is unnecessary at your power level, and not a good idea. I had one on my b20vtec all motor, and while it was streetable when you got used to it, it killed my tranny after about 20,000 miles. Sure it was fun chirping the tires going 40 mph in to 4th screwing around... I can only imagine how much time it would take to kill a d-series. Get the sprung, your tranny will love you for it.

No problem. You will be really happy with the xtss. Its a really fun clutch.

And about the 6 puck - ya its a tranny killer. I dont recommend it - unless you need to use it.
