Default civic put down 305whp, but now alot of smoke

Ok its a fully built b16 with sc61. we put together the car after getting the block back from earl. Head is also fully built. At the time it had the drag kit on it. Put it all together and started the car, after five mins. alot of smoke out of the exhast.(oil) Didn't know what the problem was so we towed the car to a performance shop to have hondata installed and get tuned. Also told them about the smoke. Did a compression test 170 on all four. They told me that my turbo seals were done, so I had the upgrade the turbo to SC61 and new manifold. Car started up fine, no smoke. put it on dyno and got tuned at 12psi. Put down 305 to the wheels. I was pretty happy. Picked up the car and drove the friends house, then dicided to go home. While diving home, I was stoped at a red light. Light turns green so I went and noticed a cloud of smoke behind me(oil). stoped turned the car off. Started the car to get home, smoked in beginning then stoped as I kept on driving. Came home checked everything, nothing wrong. So got in the car and staring diving around., no smoke. But did the same thing again at a red light. Now what I wanna know is what is the problem. Any ideas would help.

usally it would be a valve seal problem when at idle then taking off...usally if its the turbo it will do it all the time...(but not always) ck your oil return line make sure its not kinked etc, i have had rings cause this problem also...GL

Does it do it after not being started for a while, like in the morning after sitting all night? That would mean valve seals.

no it doesn't only when when I am stoping at a red light or sometimes slowing down after crusing at 65 . Does it for 10 sec. and then nothing till I stop and go again or slow down and go again.

Check your brake fluid. Is it low? Does the smoke smell sweet like syrup? Does it smoke like a **** all the sudden, then seems to go away?

I had this problem and it turned out to be the brake booster. The Master cylinder leaked past the inner seal into the booster filling it. When stopping, the fluid rushes forward into the booster line straight ito your manifold.
Smokes like crazy when you hit the brakes and has a maple syrup smell...

I know it might not be your rings but just to be on the safe side do a compression test. That'll just narrow down the problem. Also, check the charge side of the turbo and see(feel) if their's any oil residue. just start with basics. How many miles are on the motor.

my car did the same thing, i found i had a bad routing/small kink in my return line and when i ripped apart the motor I found a broken ring land, but i think the smoke was mostly from the return line problem

PyroProblem might be right. Do you have a chack valve in between your brake booster and intake manifold. I know 92-95 does. Because when you boost it pushes into your brake booster if im not mistaken. Ask around about that.

Mine is 2000 si, but I will look into that. But its oil because I am buring oil, getting low. Another thing last time it did that we stoped the car and pulling out the spark plugs and all four were wet. #4 and #3 had oil in it.

well that could be rings or valve seals, but you just had the valve seals replaced when you rebuilt the head so im would look more into the rings

well here is the thing, I bought the car a year ago with the greedy kit. It internal works done to the bottom end with the brace. I blew the headgasket, so we decided the get the head built while we had it off to replace the headgasket. Got it all done put it back on the block and had the same problem. So we pulled the whole moter and sent to earl to get it built. Resleved and new pistons, got it back from him and put it back into the car. At the same time I got my hands on a drag kit, so we replaced it. Started the car and same problem. Turns out the the turbo seals were bad, so I replaced the drag kit with a new manifold and SC61. Now the same problem, it doesn't make sence. Its gotta be something is the head. Please read the first post in beganning. Now I am allmost outta money and don't know what to do. I sure u guys understand why I am stresing this so much. Everything on the car is brand new with maybe 30 miles on it.
