if you got a turbo car use 76
click on the link below for more information

Chevron (91) 284WHP and 290TQ - chart 1
76 gas (91) 298WHP and 298TQ - chart 2
CHART 1 Chevron (91) 284WHP and 290TQ
CHART 2 76 gas (91) 298WHP and 298TQ - chart 2
crazy hp gain huh? i dont believe it completely so when i get my dyno machine in a half a year, im goin to test it out myself

May not be a good thing. The 76 may be of lower octane.

you make the most whp with the lowest octane you can go before detenating.

Exactly. Higher octane means slower burning.

hence... when you dyno.. and you add race gas afterwards = LESS POWER
because the higher octane is harder to burn. needs more timing to ignite.
those results can easily be skewed by .. say .. colder climates. new set of spark plugs. doing multiple runs to try to beat the old WHP.
the thing with turbo cars is ... power can increase or decrease dramatically depending on conditions. whereas all mtor cars i find to be more stable and results easily repeatable.

no that is incorrect...
the chemical make up of the fuel has to do with the burn rate.
octane is simply the resistance to detonation.

So, you're telling me lower octane like pump 87 thru 93(the entire fuel makeup not just the rating) does not have a faster burn rate than say......C16?

c16 does burn much slower.
but not because of octane.
"VP Import" has 3+ more points of octane over C16 and burns MUCH faster. octane is not equal to burn rate.

OK, I need an explination then so, I can be correclty guided. I see why it can be different now. That VP import is formulated to burn quicker because of the High RPM's associated w/ our engines therefore less time to actually complete the burn (due to high rpm). Does specific gravity have an affect on burn rate? Please explain.

I have a really good article on gasoline, octane, etc in a sport compact or something magazine. Tells a LOT about specifics of how they increase octane, whats good/bad octane, etc. Maybe I'll scan it sometime before all the pages fall out.
Basicly, a simple thing as when (time of day, time after last tanker refill) you filled up can make a difference. Best time IIRC is in the morning. One reason you can sometimes see more power with lower octane is if the chemical that boosts the octane number is the worse of the boosting chemical (3 major/common types, I think toluine, benzine and something else). Sounds weird, I know.
Simply put, I wouldn't sell the farm over a 2.7% increase in torque.
