Check out my plugs and broke *** toe
I知 thinking I don稚 have enough final timing as the dis-colorization on the strap goes down way to far. I知 a little rich but I know that. Heat range is good and no signs of detonation. Please feel free to chime in and let me know if I知 wrong. thanks

You need a colder plug one step down
Go here and read how to read spark plugs:

That link is much more accurate than the first posted. I'd say those plugs are a bit too cold, what heat range are they? Cold is definitely safer than hot, so it's not necessarily too bad a thing. Other than that, they look ok. Remember, this is a picture and you can only tell so much from a pic. It's also important to read plugs right after a hard pull to really see what's going on. In general though, i'd say your engine is running decent.

thanks tony! there 7's i pull them after a hard 3gear pull to redline. right now my total timming is at 19* @6psi. i think i'm going to take some timing out. what do you think.

You could always take some timing out to be safe, but playing with timing on the street is just dumb. Put it on a dyno and do it right.

i read both of the links above... and both of them tell you different things about how to read mixture, timing and heat range...
i know them both but the first one (http://www.maxracesoftware.com/spark_plugs.htm) seems a bit more accurate to me, because when i pull a plug after a 3rd gear run i.e. i have allways white porcelain, no metter what mixture i have...
maybe on carburator enginges the 4secondsflat article is correct, but on a Honda i never see brown porcelain on new plugs after a full throttle run independent from what mixture i have.
same thing for base ring and color mark on the electrode...
so maybe one of the pro tuners can throw in some ideas.
by the way: i think the plugs are ok, a bit rich, but that was mentioned before... no deonation signs, maybe a bit hot. so go one step colder. thats from what i read.
