Default Check out my engine hoist =)

Couresty of Home Depot Racing. And YES it does work. Only cost me $18. I hoisted my friend with it, gave him a super wedgie.

Truly ghetto style. Had to use some JB weld to hold up that wood.

$3/hr for a 2 post lift that comes complete with air tools, craftsman tool box full of goodies, hoist if you need it, tranny jacks, jack stands, welding is $10hr, blah blah blah... I wish the one of the lifts would have been open last saturday. I'll post my week of shitty luck story later today...

They do have those kinds of shops anywhere in the US. All you have to do is go to a military base and it's those exact same rates. They also have professional mechanics on staff to help you with any problems. You don't even have to be in the service to use them, when i went to Fort Belvoir to do my exhaust and lower my car, all i had to get was a temporary pass at the gate and pay the guys at the shop when i was done.Try it where you live it should work

i would brace that thing with a few more diagonal pieces of wood
to keep it 'square' in structure,

the last thing u want it to do is start twisting out of square, and drop your damn motor..!
hehe, and i thought i was a ghetto cheap guy
i wanted to hoist my motor from my garage trus but i figured id rent a hoist for the day.!

peace!

I don't see how everyone with a Honda/Acura is NOT removing the engine from underneath the car by now... it makes things 200 times easier, but people still love to bangup their shock towers with a motor 5 feet up in the air... I just don't get it.

How are you pulling this off without a lift? Or do you have a really nicely equipped garage?

Jack your car up really really high! Unbolt mounts and lower it down. That is how I got my swap in and out.

if your messing up the body of your car pulling it out the top you will have MANY more problems to come. It works fine both ways. I pull out Ds and Bs in about 45 min usually, out the top, without touching the body of the car...
