Default Cheap way to add power to a 1.6 liter daily driver?

Hey guys, I was wonder how I could come up with a way to boost a stock 1.6 liter motor with 160k miles on it with just a tad more power to have fun with. I am considering a small dry ~20 shot of NOS. What I dont know is do dry shots have their jets before or after the MAF? If they are before the MAF, does the ECU actually pick up on the NOS as more air and try to compensate with adding more fuel or does the MAF ignore it completely? What are some nice cheap dry kits out there? I was considering using a CO2 bottle with a on/off valve from my old paintball days, connect it to some braided lines and a 20 shot jet onto the intake tube. And since the car is a 4 speed auto, i will just open the valve once the tach reaches 3500 rpms. Will this work or do i need something to keep liquid NOS out of the lines? Will this cause a problem when the auto tranny shifts? Am i going to live to see my next post on this forum?

Your Honda does not have a MAF. Im pretty sure the only way the motor knows to "correct" fuel maps is by the reading on the o2 sensor (correct me if I am wrong). Do some nitrous research. (Not trying to sound like a ***** head)

I have no o2 sensor on my car...

No, that won't work. First off, they probably won't put nitrous in your c02 tank. If you can find someone that will, then problem # is that your car doesn't have a MAF. It's got a MAP sensor, which senses pressure, not oxygen.

You need a way to add fuel with your nitrous -- or your engine will just grenade. It's definatley possible to make a homebrew nitrous kit but for a n00b to the game I'd just reccomend a kit. Pick up a new or used ZEX kit. It doesn't get much easier than their kit.

Assuming the car does have a MAF sensor, will it add more fuel?

Assuming there is no MAF or the jet is after the MAF/MAP, will a 20 shot lean out the A/F on a stock 1.6 liter motor enought to run lean and detonate? Will running 93 octane instead of 87 help any at all from detonating?

ya dude u cant just have a 20 shot and no extra gas this will lead to things costing alot more money. if u want somthing like nitrous because its cheap and easy, then just do it right the first time. if u do it right u can easily do more than a 20 shot anyways and it will be alot more fun so u dont have to worry about detonating every time u spray.

Gotcha, I guess I'll have to just pick up a fogger kit and leave my dreams of a cheap home made kit behind.
