i doubt you'll be able to get that low with an internal w.g. unless you wanna port it out and buy a new flapper for it. why not just run it at 9lbs?

I had a turbo d16z6 on 14.7lbs for over a year and it never blew. just tell the tuner to tune it safely and you should be fine. as for the block guard, no you'll just make things worse. Iv seen it happen before.

ya stock internals and stock headgasket will be fine. just make sure you have a walbro fuel pump and at least some 345cc injectors or bigger and that your tuner knows how to tune and it should be good.

Re: changing internal wastegate on 14b turbo
seriously??
to adjust the intrenal waste gate:
Loosen the nut and take the rod off of the flapper.
To lower the boost, turn the rod and make it longer.
To raise the boost, turn the rod and make it shorter.
Then re-attach it to the flapper

Re: changing internal wastegate on 14b turbo
really, its not that hard
a healthy d-series motor can take anything a 14b can dish out.
an un-healthy one shouldn't be 'boosted'.
however, if you want to adjust the amount of 'boost' it puts out, here is the procedure:
this is on my 15g, similar but NOT identical.
loosen locknut(green arrow)
remove cotter pin (red arrow) carfully, you want to be able to put it back on
slip endlink (blue arrow) off wg arm (purple arrow).
turn endlink one way will make it longer, the other way shorter.
once you have the desired length, slip endlink back on the wg arm and put back the cotter pin.
tighten the lock nut.
