Castrol Syntec 5W30 for H22A Turbo - Okay??
Well I tried searching the FI Forum and it got me confused so I decided post a thread up...
I have always used Castrol Syntec (Synthetic Blend) 5W30 in my H22A and it runs great with that oil - now that I am gonna be turbocharged, is it okay to use the 5W30?? I read that the high low temps of your state has to do with it to and I live in IL where it gets below zero in winter... but then again the car is never driven in winter - only starts up in the garage.
So to summarize, you FI guys think I will be good to go with 5W30 or should I switch to 10W30??

I think 5W30 is too thin. 5W40 would be better. I use 5W40 during winter and 25W50 during summer.

I researched more on H-T seems like alot of people are also using Castrol GTX / Syntec 5W30 and 10W30 with their turbo cars... I was going to stick with 5W30 but then I heard than 10W30 would be better than that because of the heat the turbo generates... guess I will go with 10W30 then...

its not the first number that matters, its the latter number.
First number says how its when its cold, the latter when its hot.

Yep, use the German Castrol Syntec 0w30. It is only available at autozone and says "made in germany" on the back.

definately not that, that would be like water on a hot day with turbo.
5W40 / 10W40 would be a good choice for summer.
