Default Car wont start...running really rich...help

Well today I stalled out getting used to my new clutch, and the car wouldnt start afterwards. It backfired a few times really bad when I tried to give it some gas when I tried to start it. You can really smell alot of fuel. It was running extremely rich from the start and I never really got on it, just waiting to dyno next week. Im thinking I should pull the plugs and clean them up a little to get her started, what do you guys think ?

If you are running that rich, cleaning the plugs wont make any difference. Your going to foul them out again. If you are running that rich, I dont think that you'll be able to get the car to dyno if you plan on driving it.

well see, the thing is, I was able to drive my car about 100 miles from the shop to my house, then a few more around town, so wouldn't you think if I clean them, I can get to the dyno ?

What should I use to clean them anyways, some said brake cleaner (don't call me a dumbass if its not the right thing to use, I post here to learn...)

I use a torch to burn off the gas. It works. If you have been driving it, then you should be ok.

you coould just pull the plugs, clamp off the fuel supply and turn the engine over a few times to get the excess gas out of the cylinders, them put the plugs back in and try to start it with the fuel clamped off first, then unclamp it and try starting it.... sounds confusing, but's it's pretty simple and has worked for me before

The torch will burn off the crap on the spark plug. The combustion chamber is far hotter than what an open flame can produce on the spark plug. I have always cleaned my spark plugs that way.

make sure you buy a new set of plugs to take to the dyno. Once you get it leaned out a little your going to want to put some fresh plugs in to finish the tuning..

Ur stock ecu, 72lb/hr, and gm 3bar should be able to idle and drive. When my aem took a **** on my i drove on stock ecu, 85lb/hr and 3bar. It wasnt such a great drive tho...idle died when i put it back in neutral everytime,...backfired everywhere. Sometimes it also died and couldnt get it started...had to wait 5mins(sucked bad especially if it happens in an intersection , luckily it only happend at school). But i'd think that the 72lbers would work better.

no, not crazy. Tthats where the gm 3 bar lowers the map volt decreasing fuel by about 33%.

stock ecu wouldnt idle of course with 550s. 85lb with 3bar will idle and drive. Trust me...i've done it so have others.

i think my gm 3 bar map sensor is bad cuz i tried starting with the stock ecu, 550s, and the 3 bar map.. ohwell

gotta find another 3 bar map sensor...
