Car wont rev past 2500: Datalogged CEL 7 TPS

yesterday my car started acting up. wouldnt let me rev past 2500. it felt like it was hitting some kind of rev limiter so i tried to datalog and it threw code 7 TPS and when i observed the dash the TPS reading was 26% and 1.50 and doesnt even change if i give it some throttle. I tried changing out the TPS but its still reading the same and still wont let me rev past 2500. it sucks because i cant even go past 50mph becuase thats the fastest i can go in 5th gear w/o hitting 2500. has anyone had this problem before??? if so please help me out right now this is my daily driver and i cant even get it on the hwy to get to work.

After you put in the new tps, are you still throwing the cel 7? If so, did you adjusted the new tps so that's its .5v close and 4.5v when wot?

found out it was my ecu...i think the broken TPS fried my ecu

aight now that i put the new tps and new ecu in im still gettin the CEL 7 and now im idling high...around 2700-3000...would not calibrating the TPS keep the CEL on???

yes, you still need to calibrate the tps sensor so its see the voltage that i have mention above

Re: Car wont rev past 2500: Datalogged CEL 7 TPS (imlachg1)

here are some updates on the car...i pulled the ecu and found that the bad tps caused a resistor on my ecu to fry so i replaced the ecu and put a different intake manifold w/ TB and TPS. everything runs fine now and i didnt have to re-calibrate things becasue i didnt even pull the TPS off of the newer manifold.

first things first for you guys having the same problem...pull ur ecu and make sure nothing is fried...look and smell for burnt out resistors. then if things are okay check to see if the TPS is still good by checking the voltage at idle and at WOT. then you can calibrate from there https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
