Re: (ELABR8)
you shoulda at least took the w.g. spring out.... Running on a basemap is just asking for trouble imo. And you cant blame not having the money for a tune as the fault... money doesnt drive cars and cause problems, ppl do
as far as the problem. Like mentioned it could be a map sensor problem, hopefully thats what the issue is

Re: (trav95civic)
yes i no its my own fault for driving on it
it starts up and runs really well for about 2seconds like it use to then when it tries to idle just dies so i hope its the map sensor ( i need a different one anyways to turn the boost up once i get TUNEDDDDD)

Re: (WGFletch4WS)
Not to burst your bubble... but looking back into this thread if it were the map sensor im pretty sure it would throw a code. And sense you said to have no codes the problem could be elsewhere

when you first got the basemap, did the car start up and run fine and stayed idling? usually when a car starts up and dies right away, the a/f is too lean. try to up ur fuel pressure to see if that helps, but get the car tuned!

do you have a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator?

i have an AEM one but will it randomly jsut die out liek that? it ran fine for about 15miles before this happend..ive also heard bad things about the adj regulators
EDIT: also i put new plugs in it while i was waiting for the tow truck and they wer real dark it was def running rich (which i would assume from a basemap i no) so how could my fuel pressure randomly change from extra rich to very lean?just upping hte fuel pressure seems almost to easy

Re: (WGFletch4WS)
well turning the fuel pressure up could only help if running lean. If your not running lean then it wont help at all. Might want to do a compression test just to make sure the motor isnt hurt any.... but im still confused with the speedo bouncing. Never heard that one before

the speedo is the weird part...its wat makes me almost positive its eletrcical somethings f'd
im prety sure the motor is fine tho cuz when it starts at first it sounds very good just like it should then when it tries to establish an idle it just drops right down and dies..
does that rule out the fuel pressure tho?
leaves map sensor and dizzy?any mroe suggestions?

Correct.
Check your thermostat housing ground, holmes, as well as any engine to battery/chassis ground straps.
